Activities that involve exploring the great outdoors with sporting challenges are becoming increasingly popular. These include freeriding and ski touring. As with hardly any other sport, the right equipment is crucial, because the wrong material means not only less fun in alpine terrain but also higher risk. The market for protective equipment in particular is currently under great pressure to innovate, and avalanche backpacks in particular are becoming increasingly popular.
