The future of freeriding: The AVABAG LiTRIC FREERIDE 18 is an avalanche airbag rucksack designed specifically for off-piste skiing. From powder days near the slopes to multi-day freeride trips: AVABAG LiTRIC FREERIDE and TOUR Zip attachments of different sizes can be fitted to a single BASE, always tailored to the intended use. The Zip is designed so that the various pack bags and the BASE can be easily combined to form a single unit.

The BASE, comprising the back panel and airbag system of the AVABAG LiTRIC FREERIDE 18, sits snugly against the back thanks to the CLASP BACK SYSTEM – featuring soft back pads, a wide, flexible hip belt and soft shoulder straps – whilst allowing complete freedom of movement. It is compatible with the separately available CLASP SPINE PROTECTOR.

What’s more, all the pack’s features are precisely tailored to freeriding: features such as ski, snowboard and ice axe attachments are all included, whilst a helmet holder and quick access to the main compartment ensure that nothing is left to be desired. Emergency equipment can be secured in the main compartment using special gear loops.
LiTRIC, the electronic airbag system, combines lightness with ease of use and reliability. The electronic system charges via USB-C in around 25 minutes and allows for numerous test deployments at no extra cost. The absence of cartridges means: more space, no weighing, no cartridge disposal, and no travel restrictions. The design has been thought through down to the last detail; supercapacitors are used instead of cartridges, and the airbag is super-light – making the system one of the lightest on the market. What’s more, the system is particularly easy to use. From the charging process and the LED charge indicator, through the trigger handle, to the leg loop and the airbag’s packaging: LiTRIC AVABAGs are completely intuitive to use. A single charge allows for at least two deployments. The operating time in ON mode is approximately 60 hours, enabling multi-day trips without recharging. The operating temperature ranges from -30° to +45° C.
